What may be detectable
Some rare but serious conditions may be visible early (e.g., acrania, spina bifida, major limb abnormalities, exomphalos, early fetal hydrops). Detection depends on fetal position, gestational age and imaging conditions.
This scan is a reassurance scan and is not a diagnostic examination. It does not replace any NHS or hospital antenatal scans or appointments. While some abnormalities may be suspected during this scan, it cannot confirm or exclude all fetal anomalies. If any concerns or potential abnormalities are identified, you should contact your NHS midwife, GP, or attend your hospital maternity unit as soon as possible for further assessment.
