Position & Presentation Scan
The Position & Presentation Scan assesses how your baby is lying in the womb, particularly in the later stages of pregnancy.
What it does
Identifies the baby’s presentation (head-down, breech, or transverse)
Assesses the baby’s position (which way the baby is facing)
Monitors changes in baby’s position as pregnancy progresses
Supports delivery planning and ongoing maternity care

Knowing your baby’s position and presentation helps guide safe birth planning and ensures appropriate care for both mother and baby.

Important Preparation Information
To ensure clear imaging, a full bladder is required for this scan. Please begin drinking fluids 30–45 minutes before your appointment and avoid using the bathroom during this time.
No hospital records, referral, or GP notes are required for this scan.
